Confusion Abounds
Prayer
Luke 24:1 Common English Bible Translation
Very early in the morning on the first day of the week, the women went to the tomb, bringing the fragrant spices they had prepared.
(Question: What are the things you like to plan?)
Luke 24:2-3
They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they went in, they didn’t find the body of the Lord Jesus.
(Question: How have your plans been disrupted in the last month?)
Luke 24:4-5
They didn’t know what to make of this. Suddenly, two men were standing beside them in gleaming bright clothing. The women were frightened and bowed their faces toward the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead?”
(Question: How have you dealt with disruption?)
Luke 24:6-8
“He isn’t here, but has been raised. Remember what he told you while he was still in Galilee, that the Human One must be handed over to sinners, be crucified, and on the third day rise again.” Then they remembered his words.
(Question: Have you found something to guide you during confusing times?)
Luke 24:9-11
When they returned from the tomb, they reported all these things to the eleven and all the others. It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them who told these things to the apostles. Their words struck the apostles as nonsense, and they didn’t believe the women.
(Question: How do you share your experiences with others during confusing times?)
Luke 24:12
But Peter ran to the tomb. When he bent over to look inside, he saw only the linen cloth. Then he returned home, wondering what had happened.
(Question: What steps do you take to make sense of the world around you?)
Prayers of the People and the Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us;
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil
For thine is the kingdom and the power
and the glory, forever. Amen
Blessing
